Progress report

My Rock n Weave socks are finished.19 inches of the baby blanket now.
Here's a close-up.
These two skeins are for the next two pair of fingerless mitts from the February 10 & 11, 2007 entry of the 2007 Knitting Pattern-a-Day Calendar. These are both Opal yarns--Crocodile I on the left and Inspiration on the right.
Now back to your regularly scheduled knitting...

Well...

I tried to post a couple of nights ago but obviously it didn't work. So here I am trying to post again. This is one item I have been sporadically working on lately. It is the Rock n Weave sock pattern from the 2006 Blue Moon Fibers sock club. (Farmhouse color mediumweight Socks that Rock yarn)Yeah, yeah...I'm way behind. I am now determined to finish all those other four kits and keep up with this years. I will start the first kit from this year as soon as I finish up this one. Then I will start the 3rd kit from last year. I'm hoping I can finish these this weekend.
Here is the blue scarf that I take to school and work on during morning bus duty. Of course, I won't get to wear it this winter but I should finish it up soon also. This is Lion Brand Homespun yarn in the Delft blue color.
And here is the baby blanket knit in a simple ripple pattern which may still be a ways from finishing. It is looking pretty though in this color yarn--Encore Colorspun, and I forget what the name of the color is.

OK, back to knitting on the socks so they will be finished by Sunday night. Hopefully, I can post a finished picture!

Mitts

Finished two pair of fingerless mitts this week. They are the Driving Mitts from the 2007 Knitting Pattern-a-day calendar, Feb. 10 & 11. I just need to weave in the ends. I'm using up some of my Opal stash for these. They will be Christmas presents.

FO!

My Monkey socks were finished last night and I am wearing them today!

And, one week later

Awww, isn't this cute! I caught our dogs, Sabrina and Rusty, lying side by side on the kitchen floor this morning. They get along very well and seldom fight.
These are my Monkey socks. Here they are ready for the toe decreases, which is what I am working on at the moment. They should be ready to wear tonight. For these I used Cherry Tree Hill yarn in the Blueberry Hill color.
I forgot to post these as a finish. These are the Lombard Street socks that I finished last week. Above is the close up of the patterning. I used STR yarn in Onyx.
I didn't take the pattern all the way down to the toe on these because the cable would have made them too bulky in my shoes.

OK, back to working on the toe dcreases in my Monkey socks!

What I'm working on right now

Here is two repeats of my Monkey sock. I decided to go with the Blueberry Hill colorway of Cherry Tree Hill sock yarn. I think it is looking pretty good!
Also on the needles, is a baby afghan using some Plymouth Encore Colorspun in this color...
I think it may be the Baby Girl Twist color but I'm not sure. It's for a baby girl anyway so that is good. I really like this knitted ripple pattern. Only two rows to remember, except at the beginning and end.
TTFN!

So I was thinking...

about using one of these yarns for my next pair of socks. I am going to knit Monkey from Knitty. Here is the link http://knitty.com/ISSUEwinter06/PATTmonkey.html
The yarn colors are Gypsy Rose, Martha's Vineyard, Blueberry Hill. I was leaning towards the Blueberry Hill but I'm not sure. What do you think?

A lot of catching up...

I haven't posted since New Year's Eve,...so I think I need to catch up with what I've done since then. I have made two more pair of felted clogs... Before...and
After.
I have made one pair of fingerless mitts for the upcoming Christmas.
I finished an extra long pair of socks for me. They stay up quite well, surprisingly.
We had a little bit of snow last week. Here is Sarah with her mini snowman. She made two of them.
Here is the latest pair of socks I am working on. It is the Lombard Street pattern but I am not continuing the pattern down the instep because I don't like the indentations down my foot.
I will need to cast on for another pair of fingerless mitts because I want to knit at least one pair a month so I have enough for presents at Christmas.
Hopefully, I will post sooner than a month later.
TTFN!

Last two weeks of December in pictures

Our Christmas tree at home.
Michelle and her fiance Bryan.
Our two dogs play-fighting.
Same here.
Christmas tree at my brother's house on Christmas Eve.
After we ate, all gathered around the kitchen bar for a look at my brother's gun.

Opening presents--Sarah got a Cabbage Patch with baby.
He likes the green!
Ooops! Labeled the packages wrong--Margaret got John Michael's and he got hers.

Finally got the right one!
Trying out the suncatchers. This kept them busy and quiet for quite some time.
Megan, my oldest.
Benji (fiance), Megan, and John Michael
Working on the yarn!
Christmas morning at our house. Sarah's opening presents.

Megan and Benji came over early to open presents with us too.
Sabrina is eyeing the treats that were in her stocking.

The dogs have to be in the middle of everything.

Sarah is trying to give some treats to one of the cats.
Benji got the jacket he wanted from Megan.

Lillian Grace, the great-niece.
Benji is feeding her some custard.

Had to take a picture of the brother-in-law's shirt. It says...I'm sick of being my wife's arm candy.
Lilli is watching Mom(Amber) open her presents.

My MIL, Lilli's great-grandmother, holding Lilli.
Chuck, my other brother-in-law, holding Lilli.
Dad(Shannon) is taking her to get ready for bed.
Rusty, sleeping in his favorite chair on New Year's Eve.
The cat, SiSi, likes to sleep here also, when the dogs aren't in it.
