Just received in today's mail, two scarves from Lynn, Mary's friend in Washington state. Aren't they lovely? Both are knit sideways using at least 3 or 4 different yarns. I really love them. And whoever gets them will be very pleased, I'm sure.
Thanks, Lynn!
Just someplace to record my thoughts about knitting, reading, and life in general

Finished!
I actually finished on Thursday, but haven't had time to get on the blog til now. Here it is, a little off center, cause Sarah took the picture. Here it is from the front and modeled again by me. Sarah can take pretty decent pictures when she concentrates.
Here is a close-up shot after it dried from blocking. I may block some more as one end is a little more parallelogram that rectangular.
Anyway, I'm happy with how it turn out and really want to make a couple more...one with ribbon yarn and one with some STR fingering weight. I have the fingering weight already in Black Onyx colorway. Just not sure how much it will take. I have 6 skeins with 325 yds. each. I will give it a shot and see how wide it is at the end of the decreases. But first I need to finish a couple pair of socks first.

Down to the decreases...
Here is my Clappy so far. I laid it out on my daughter's bed because the light is better in her room. This is a closer view of the decreasing end. I have knitted 3 decreases so far.
This is the beginning end. See how the end still wants to roll up. It won't be long before I get to weave in ends and block! Yippee!

Clapotis progress
Just checking in...
Here I am holding the two hats and scarf that Mary sent in for our charity project. Then I took some close up pictures of these items. They really are beautiful.
I will take an updated picture of my clapotis later tonight and also a progress shot of the socks I have started for the current Six Sox Knitalong. Til later.

Sunday's progress...
Here are some pictures of my progress. I finished up the increase section and have gotten far enough into the straight sections to drop twice. I have been using stitch markers but I am going to purl the stitch to be dropped from now on and get rid of the markers. It won't make any difference in the final look. Mine is rolling on the side now that I am dropping stitches. It has been rolling on the bottom also. See in the bottom picture? I hope this stops when I get all the stitches dropped and block it.

This week's progress...
This is what we woke up to this morning. I would have taken a photo this afternoon when it stopped for a while but it would have been ugly. No snow left. It is snowing again and collecting since the sun went down some time ago. We will see what it looks like in the morning.
Here is the progress I made on my Clapotis last night. I didn't get a chance to knit on it today, due to running errands and doing household chores. I will definitely work on this more tomorrow.
Here is a picture of my shadow socks. I finished them up this week also. Should have been finished by January 31st, but, oh well. At least they are finished in time for Valentine's day.
Here is another picture from a different angle. See the hearts? Doncha just love it?!
Final picture. Lion Brand Homespun yarn...garter stitch pattern scarf.

Sad day
I haven't posted about this earlier because I wasn't ready to talk about it. Thursday evening, my ex-father-in-law died. He fell outside on his back steps and bled to death. He was a wonderful, loving person and even though I didn't see much of him, he was my daughter, Megan's grandfather and he will be missed.

I've made some progress on my Shadow socks this week. Just not enough to suit me. I finished the heel and almost through the gusset. Slow but sure. I was to have a class tomorrow but it got cancelled due to the coming "inclement" weather predictions. Yippee! More knitting time...after I do some cleaning. The knitting time will be my reward for cleaning. Shouldn't take too long.
I finished this scarf up also. It is made from some Lion Brand Homespun yarn that I had wound up into a ball but I don't have the label with the color name. This is for our Markey Cancer project. Also counts toward my stash used up total.
Gonna sign off for now. Monk will be on in 20 minutes!
